More Guns, Less Crime?

In Mosaic, we started off the year by choosing a 'passion' project. Mine initially researched mass shootings in America, which then inevitably led into the gun control debate. I purchased books on both sides to create an informed opinion and policy to educate others in a debate.

My Year in Review

The Turnip

HIGHLIGHTS

Free Tibet

Myself and two friends had planned a walk to raise awareness for Tibet, which was annexed by China with no world repercussions. The current Tibetan government-in-exile is located in India, and has been for the last half century. The walk would coincide with the Dali Lama's arrivalin Boulder. Unfortunetely, the Dalai Lama cancelled his trip to Boulder.

We started a satirical newspaper in Mosaic to highlight issues we thought were important. We published several articles, and created two magazine publications and a website. Unfortunetely, after last year, the project fizzled out. However, I really enjoyed it, and although writing satire was hard, it definetely made me a better writer.

ONGOING PROJECTS

Serial Season Two

I loved the Serial Season One podcast, and now I'm hooked on season two: Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.  After extensive research on Bergdahl's case, I will create a video presentation.

AP Biology

Science has always interested me, from interneurons to virology, and I was excited

to continue my learning through Ap Bio.

The first unit discusses evolution: scientific evidence, phylogenetic trees, the Hardy-

Wineburg equation, and genetic mutations.
